I do hope that Craig doesn't have to go through a multitude of crappy films like many of the other Bond stars had to go through. Even Connery had a few stinkers to compliment his great films. And don't even get me started on some of Roger Moore's shit. By the way, Connery is by far the best. He combines the snarl and toughness of Craig with the wit and charming smile of Moore, and removes all the crappiness that would normally result from a combination like that. He is Bond in essence. Just watch the first 30 minutes of Goldfinger if you need any more proof. He even managed to turn a terrible idea like You Only Live Twice into something magical.

Here's how I review each Bond's performance:

Connery: Had an amazing first five movies, got called back after Lazenby, and was the victim of a movie that would be bad if Jesus himself was the star.

Lazenby: Featured in only one movie, but was great at the role. Could have done with another movie.

Moore: An unfortunate combination of being an average Bond and starring in terrible movies didn't help him. Out of 8 movies, maybe about 2 of them were good, and 2 of them were so bad that people wanted to shoot themselves in the head with their own golden guns (I refer to "The Man with the Golden Gun" and "Moonraker").

Dalton: One gem, one stinker. He didn't have enough movies to fully show off his talent, and that's a shame.

Brosnan: A pretty boy as Bond certainly wasn't what the series needed, and he was the unfortunate victim of some pretty bad movie ideas. I actually enjoyed The World is Not Enough because of the fantastic girls, but that was about it. Goldeneye was pretty good, but couldn't hold a candle up to some of the Connery classics.

Craig: The other extreme of Roger Moore, in my opinion. Very gritty with very little corniness and humor. He has some clever lines, but I can never shake the feeling that he only says them to distract someone before he goes to strangle them.
