I'd get one now. It's a great deal and there is no guarantee when the next price drop will happen for the PS3, especially for $350. Having the emotion engine will be a complete bonus as well in case you want to have backwards compatibility that works more reliably.

There are good games coming out this year, and then great games coming out early next year. In the meantime, you could download some of the demos on the PSN and get a feel for some of the other games out there. You may be shocked and surprised if you find one that you weren't thinking much of and be surprised by how good it is. Lair looks like it will be a great game, and regardless of what the reviewers say of the game, I'll give it a rent and see how I enjoy it. I'm not going to go and rattle off a bunch of games that I don't know if you would like them or not, so just check out gamespot or ign and see what is in development and coming out this year to see if you should make the plunge or not.

Having blu-ray of course is a plus and not the reason why I bought mine. But it is a nice added bonus. But in the future someday you'll have a HDTV, so at least you'd have the PS3 whenever you came to time to get the HDTV.

Well, it's not 350... sales tax is unescapeable... Its $394 shipped to my door -- basically $400 bucks.  Buy.com is probably where I'd get one if the price dropped as I can almost always find a $10 coupon plus free shipping.  If not, there is always somebody -- amazon for instance, running a free shipping deal where I won't get hit with tax.  That's why I mentioned the 399 price point.

I've already downloaded the release list and Lair is really the only one that absolutely insterests me this fall.  GT5 prologue certainly is piquing my interest as well but it's not the full game just yet.  The God of War series didn't do it for me on the PS2 so I'm hesitant that HS will appeal as I'm hearing it's like GoW.

I do have a 360 now so anything that is dual platform I can already get so it's really down to exclusives.

On the emotion engine, I'll say again, that I won't be playing backward compatible.  It just isn't that important to me and frankly, I'd rather have the latest generation hardware.

If I was fairly certain that the 80 gig sku will be the standard next march and be 399, I'd step aside now but I'm not so sure and I hate missing out on an opportunity.

@ CK -- just out of curiosity, how many of the games below do you think will have downloadable demos?  I can damn near live on Xbox 360 demos as they just keep coming.  If there were a lot of downloadable free demos, I'd be hooked pretty quick, lol.
