Will Sony pull off a PS3 price cut?

I'm pretty sure that Sony will reduce the price of the PS3 to $300 in mid-2009 ...

After 2.5 years Sony should have reduced the manufacturing costs on enough elements by a large enough ammount in order to support a $300 price on their system.
