That doesn't effect WoW sales. The actual game is a free game, Blizzard even has the client up for free download on their website and it's the full blown game.
The thing people pay for is the account, and when you buy the expansions you are actually just buying a key to upgrade your account to have access to the expansions content.
It is very hard to pirate a WoW account so piracy has a very low affect on WoW. There are those that play on private servers but those are generally not as good as the regular ones and Blizzard doesn't care cause they have enough paying subscribers.
