The Elimination Game - Franchises

Yes, it's the return of the Elimination Game! With this reviving, I'm doing it by franchises. And it's a hearty list!*

Rules are simple. Each franchise starts with 10 points. When you post, copy/paste the currently existing list from the last post, then add 1 point to one franchise, and since the list is so long, remove three points from three different franchises. Please re-organize the franchises as the order changes (for instance, if you vote for one and its number rises from 11 to 12, place it above all the 11-ranked franchises).

You may vote once every two hours.

Presently, there are 90 franchises involved. As they are eliminated, add them to the end of the list in the "ELIMINATED" section, one after the next, in paragraph form, numbered and separated by commas. Sorry it's so long, but I felt it best to include as many worthy franchises as possible. It's hard to narrow it down without alienating anybody. Besides, the list will shorten rather quickly as we all play. =)

As the game progresses and the franchises are narrowed down, the rules will change. These changes aren't determined yet, but will probably consist of a change in how often one can vote, and how many points are added/removed.

*Note: I put together my list based primarily on total franchise sales, then secondarily on popularity amongst members of these boards. Also, to be included here, a franchise must have at least two released titles. Sorry, Killzone fans. And No More Heroes, not qualifying. If a franchise wasn't included, there is a good reason for that. Get over it and play the game. Also, Mario got so many different listings because each subfranchise is so different from the next. Get over that too. =p

 

So, to recap. RULES: Post 1x every 2 hours. Add 1 point from a franchise, subtract 3 from three franchises (NOT the same franchise). When a franchise is eliminated, add it to the list at the end.

 

11/17/08:

Change of rules: From this point on, you may now use two of your negative votes on a single franchise. You still have a total of three negative votes, but they no longer must be spread across three franchises - you can subtract two from one franchise, and one from another. You do not HAVE to, though - you can still spread them out if you want to.
