there's no way to prove this, but i don't think there are as many angry customers as you think. I think there are a ton of very satisfied PS2 owners who are still catching up on so many of the great titles, which is why you still see PS2 sales above everything but the Wii. Those PS2 owners have yet to decide and have no reason to decide to buy a new console yet. Will they go out and buy the PS3 eventually? Maybe, maybe not. It's gonna be that demographic who decides this generation, so we have to wait for them to pick up new consoles.

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.
