Another reason is that the PS3 is not drawing in the casual gamer. The current owners are more informed about what quality games are coming up. Afterall, $500 - $600 consoles don't attract too many casual gamers and current owners did shell out that much for them. I expect a high attach ratio on majority of Sony released games for this reason.
