Sorry I took your post to mean if you were buying a Xbox 360 and needed the 120GB HDD right away. I don't know what I would do if I had a 20GB HDD and needed to upgrade. The price of both HDDs are horrible. I would wait as long as possible since MS might release a larger HDD which should come in at the same price point as the 120GB is now.
The retail price for a 160GB 2.5" HDD is $65 and I doubt a 60GB or 120GB is much cheaper to produce. MS could probably switch the 120GB for a 250GB drive for less than $10/unit. I doubt they would do this unless they also upgraded the HDD in the Elite model. This would give MS bragging rights about the biggest stock HDD in a console.
