A good part of an RPGs enjoyment comes from seeing your character evolve through physical change, clothing changes, and weapon upgrades. And for all their flaws, Bethesda does have one thing going for them that Black Isle doesn't. They're still making video games.

Third person is nearly broken in Fallout. Not as bad as Oblivion, but not good.

I'm coming off harsh on this game. I like it and I'm enjoying most of my time with it. It's just... missing something. There's an emptiness there I can't really put my finger on.

BTW Fro, I'm going to finally be back online in about two weeks after I move... We badly need a Gears co-op playthrough.

Eh, my budget is lacking so I probably won't have Gears before Christmas, if then.

I'm also caving and resubbing to WoW for the expansion tonight, if only to get more time occupied to keep me from buying all that other games that I'm on the fence about. 15 bucks for a month of WoW is better for my wallet than spending the 240-300 bucks it would take in other games to eat up a comparable amount of time. Once I finally get Gears though, I'm definitely up for a playthrough.
