Yeah, I like the EU. It's still far from beeing perfect, but it definately is a model for the future.
Regarding turkey, the problem with it isn't really the islam. It's not like it was some kind of islamistic country ( the goverment is secular). There are just standards that do not match ours yet. Letting any more countrys join whose infrastructure isn't good enough will only hurt the whole EU. Last but not least, turkey still doesn't recognize cyprus which is a EU member.
There are more points, but generally these 2 are the biggest ones.
