I hate it when people just say they won't even bother to at least try the game. :/
I never thought I would have played Blue Dragon, but that's a fine example of a hidden gem. I could make a list of other games that totally impressed me even though review scores were not so good. One on top of my head is Custom Robo: Battle Revolution on the GameCube.

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
