On a broader note, the whole "moving the goalposts" thing apparently isn't just being done by fanboys; it seems even the developers are doing it (and getting increasingly vitriolic; see Epic go from "no money in Wii development" to "controls are gimmicky" to "will never develop for the Wii" to "Wii is a virus"). It's not that Nintendo is finding no success in the console wars, but rather that its detractors keep redefining success to arbitrarily exclude the Wii at every turn (going back to its online critics' views: It will get slaughtered -> it's just a fad -> third party games don't sell -> the right third party games don't sell).
