I don't see a problem with having to sit through a short-ish download so that my favourite developers can earn what they deserve.
Technically I've done it before when I downloaded Siren: Blood Curse, which came in 12 episodes. I only had to wait through the first download, the rest were done while I was playing.
In this instance though there wouldn't be any waiting since you would be playing the rest of the game while you downloaded the ending. Sounds a good idea to me.
