You know what makes me laugh too...
and I mean... it's not really the designers fault or anything...
but you get this horrible sob story about how Vaan and the rest of the Orphans are so poor they can't afford food and Van has to steal...
then i'm out on my hunt like 10 minutes later... and when i get back after fighting monsters for a while, i've got enough gold to buy like EVERYTHING in the store.
It just makes me think "That selfish prick, Van could just hunt a few wolves sell theire hides and bam, all the orphans would have enough food... unless food costs more then Swords, magic and items that bring you back from the freakin dead.
