| Rei said: Wrong. He has been announced as one of the FFXIII's script writers after E3 2006. He was then been announced as Versus's "Scenario Designer" this summer. He also was one of the 4 people who came up with the whole "Fabula Nova Crystalis" idea.

He did VII, VII, X and I think both KH. (or was it just the first?) I know IX was a different guy...Aoki i believe. (checks Wikipedia) Yeah it was Aoki, who apparently also directed FF:CC. Then Watanabe did FFXII, who is also doing the 3 new KH games.
