I don't know if it's the reason for most people or not, but for me, it wasn't, in fact, for that reason I almost missed the games, I decided to play the first despite the Disney characters, not because I hate Disney, but because it seemed too kiddy to be enjoyable. Of course, having hated the first game and loved the second one, I can say that the Disney characters fit very well, and that some worlds are certainly memorable, but for me, the Disney part's just an extra. A good extra, of course, though.
