Stephen King is awesome. None of the writers you mention could write a book like Stephen King's It. It is one of the greatest American novels of the last half of the twentieth century.
No one can write a coming of age story like Stephen King that captures all of the realities of life of so many desparate kids. Another thing that Stephen King does better than any other writer I've ever read and that is perfectly displayed in It is the way that he captures the spirit of the 1950's with all of its innocent magic that was soon to come face to face with the harsh realities of the sixties, the impending Russian nuclear terror threat as personified to an extent by Pennywise the Clown a Lovecraftian spirit that is also composed of evil parents and civil injustices that strives to corrupt the power of belief.
As those that know understand, Stephen King was the Charles Dickens of his time.
"Ahahahaha, I know this is from way back on page 5 or so, but oh my god you are so wrong. Stephen King, the greatest 20th century American novelist? I can name dozens of better, more important, and less pulpy 20th century American novelists. If you wanted to select the greatest, try Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Kurt Vonnegut, Joseph Heller, William Faulkner... there's plenty of authors you could make a great case for. But Stephen King? Not. A. Chance."
My most anticipated games: Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort. Cave Story Wiiware.
