I do not believe someone should be suspected simply because of their appearance, but it is also a matter of effectiveness. I think racial profiling is too close to violating the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. Also, if we train our security personnel to include appearance, it could cause them to discount suspicious behavior of individuals of a different appearance. It also creates an unnecessary form of contention and hostility between security personnel and people of certain appearances.
