I won't delude myself into thinking that Gears 2 is some kind of work of art. I don't even think that Gears 2 is worthy of the many Game of the Year nominations/awards it will recieve in the coming months. I will say this: The game's presentation is second to none, and the story hits all the right buttons. At least to me, the game is incredibly enjoyable, amazingly accessable, and totally satisfying........and I haven't ever touched multi-player in Gears 1 OR Gears 2. Just like "The Dark Knight", this isn't the greatest gift God has blessed us with. But there's no harm in loving a product that's meant to cater to a mass market, is there? |
quite fair.
It is nice to see a game that marries this generations trend of Shooters with last generation's trend of cinematic story telling on a level warranting such notice.
