Games like Fallout can practically be played forever due to the wandering, open nature of the game. So from that perspective, it's a better "value" if you don't buy many games, but like to play a lot.
Gears 2 is endless online fun, assuming you're into online matches. As a single player game, you won't get nearly as many hours out of it unless you enjoy beating shooters over and over.
