"Have you read the Dark Knight Returns? or, better yet, Ronin? How about V for Vendetta? Or Watchmen, God help you? In order for MGS4 to come within the same plane of existence as Watchmen, it would have to be several times better than any previous Metal Gear Solid game in terms of narrative, and to be frank I just don't imagine that to be true."

I have read The Dark Knight Returns several times. Everybody knows Kojima's storylines are top notch that is why he's considered an aueteur.

How many Tom Waits' albums have you listened to?

You do not know what auteur means.

au⋅teur
/oʊˈtɜr; Fr. oʊˈtœr/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [oh-tur; Fr. oh-tœr] Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun, plural au⋅teurs  /oʊˈtɜrz; Fr. oʊˈtœr/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [oh-turz; Fr. oh-tœr] Show IPA Pronunciation .
1. a filmmaker whose individual style and complete control over all elements of production give a film its personal and unique stamp.
Origin:
1960–65; < F: lit., author, originator < L auctor. See author

All being an auteur means is that Kojima controls every single aspect of the production. This is not an inherently good thing.

So you're saying you haven't read Watchmen. Or From Hell. Or Swamp Thing. Why are you even bringing up authorrs you haven't read? Hyperbole will only destroy your argument.

I have listened to two or three Tom Waits albums. My favorite is Rain Dogs.
