Not saying I believe we have been visited by ETs, but think about what you said for a second... You are making baseless assumptions about the thought processes of an alien mind.
Have you ever been caught completely off guard by what another human did or thought? An alien mind multiplies this uncertainty factor by yet another one, making any of our assumptions useless.

If the alien doesn't live in our solar system, he would need at least 5 years. And that is if he travels close to the speed of light. It seems incredibly odd that someone would travel for 5 years, spend 1 day here, and travel 5 years back.

One time I drove from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, gambled and drank for 1 hour, slept in a car for 2 hours until the sun came up, went to the Classic Gaming Expo for about 3 hours, and drove all the way home. Total trip: 19 hours. Total time at destination: 6 hours. Total time traveling: 13 hours.
Aliens could be as crazy as me, and possibly crazier.
