Comrade Tovya... you played utopia too? I thought we (Me and my childhood friend) where the only ones!

As far as getting better or worse over the years. I think the big problem now is there are TOO many games. When I was young, I usually had just one game to play (that i had not yet beat). So no matter how hard and frustrating it was, I just played it over, and over, and over. Until the job was done. Metroid was a good example of this.

But now, before I even have a chance to finish a game, 5 new games are out. (In the last few weeks, fall out 3, resistance 2, little big planet and otterspod)... now, little big planet and otterspod are almost done, but i'm dying to play fall out 3 and resistance 2 also...

Oh yeah, I LOVED Utopia... and really to this day it's still a pretty amazing game considering the hardware it was working with.  Funny enough, I still have the original copy of the game I got for Christmas in 1982... and it still works like a charm.

I actually had a lot of games (even though we were dirt poor)... I used to peddel candy at school in competition with the school fund raiser candy.  I would buy 1000-count bags of pixie sticks at around a penny per stick, and turn around and sell them 5 for a dollar to kids... and of course, most parents won't let their kids take candy to school, and kids are addicted to candy, so I made a killing everyday on my classmates.  A $10.00 investment would yield me $200.00 every two weeks or so.

Long story short, I was a first grader making $400.00 a month to spend on video games and what not... that's a lot of cash for any kid.. but back in the early 80s, I was the rich kid at school who lived in poverty at home.

Anyway, therefore, I got lots and lots of games, and I've kept nearly every single on of them to this day (along with the consoles).
