I think it is a great strategy... Helps Nintendo push the DS... Helps Microsoft with the Viva Pinata brand name by getting it into the hands of 47+ million users...

Microsoft is a long way if at all from releasing their own handheld game so why not support DS? I think the most important thing hear is the brand recognition for Viva Pinata... If it is good and sells good then the brand will become more recognized as something like Mario (Not near as big, but on the right track to becoming recognized in that sense)...

They have success on the TV, Viva Pinata is probably the best family game on the 360, if it is good on DS it becomes a brand name for portable gamers which usually have or want living room consoles.

This is simply another step to building a brand that is recognizable to everyone.
