TWO is time, bundled software would be accounted for in Software =P

In any case the problem here is that the Wii is the only console you can remove bundled software for.  360 and PS3 bundles add up to sizeable numbers as well but we don't have data for it because those bundles are inconsistent.

Besides we've had this discussion many many times on this website and like it or not, people buy the Wii for Wii Sports.  If they didn't the software wouldn't be bundled.  The same thing is true of PS3 and 360 bundles as well, you bundle Halo 3 because people will buy the console for Halo 3, you bundle MGS4 because people will buy the console for MGS4, and you bundle Wii Sports because people will buy the console for Wii Sports.

I'm glad you bolded (Is that a word??)  that for me.  If I had the CHOICE I wouldn't have gotten the Wii with Wii sports. Useless.  I may be in the minority.  But the minority does exist.

1. The problem I see is that any estimate of what should or shouldn't be allotted as copies of Wii Sports that would/wouldn't have been sold is exactly that, an estimate.  What is a fair estimate and according to whom is it fair?

2. I'm not fond of making estimates when its easy for someone (even myself) to sway the result towards a desired outcome.  It's an invitation for bias, and bias is not always consciously imposed.

3. In any case I think you would concede that given your choice to take the gameless Wii bundle you would then logically purchase another game in its place anyways.  And while in your case we could accurately deem that Wii Sports was unwanted and thus inflationary to the total software number since you would have purchased another piece of software anyways, there exists no way to measure such a thing for all Wii owners. Which, of course, means we would have to invent an estimate.

1. True

2. True

3. True

You're right.  I'll leave it at that. Have a good night. :)
