I also wanted to add that I think MS has a lot to do with the perception of the PS2 lasting long into this generation. With the 360 coming out in 2005 it seems to a lot of folks like "next-gen" has been here a lot longer than it really has for Sony. Currently the PS2 is only about 9 months into the next-gen lifetime of the PS3 and PS3 problems since launch I think have fueled PS2 sales. So it may be a bit early to say it is going to continue to have long legs that far down the road. Especially when Sony starts shifting their full weight behind the PS3 in '08 as a lot of their AAA titles are being released.
