Like it was stated before, 90% usually vote Democrat. that means the other 7% (the actual number) voted for him either because they liked him better, Palin's divisive position of two Americas, or because he's black.
I bet more white people voted against him, than black people for him.
And so what if they did? The president is as much Chief of State as he is Commander in Chief. Voting for someone isn't the same as voting against someone. The black people of America had an opportunity to elect a minority which wasn't possible 4 years ago. He was competent enough to win voters from all groups - some more than others.
