A figure on how many chicks do get raped? The figures vary so much. I think the official one is actually 1 in 6. From talking to my friends it would seem much higher than that though. Nobody reports it, cops don't do anything but make it worse. Not to mention the other factors I mentioned why no one reports it. I'm fortunate it was never from a family member. What I was looking for was to assess the general attitude from people regarding the subject. From what I've seen, many men actually take it extremely lightly. Do you know what the words "many" and "most" mean?
Letting us know the official statistics are 1 in 6 women, "most" would be somewhere in the range of 4-5 in actuality. That's an awful lot of unreported cases if true, and less even admitting it through whatever means the stats were collected by. It's hard to buy, since my own anecdotal evidence, which should be just as important as yours, tells me that 4 or 5 out of every 6 women I know haven't been raped. Not even close.
You say "many" men take it lightly, and base it on one man making a joke out of the other 6 or 7 that took the topic seriously.
