I do play the real guitar. And bass actually. But you know what? Sometimes, it's fun to play these games with my friends who don't. I've found a few new songs that I like (and can play on the real guitar now...) simply from playing this game. Even better? I was inspired to buy an electronic drum set due to the amount of fun I had playing drums in Rock Band (Wii version). I won't say I'm any good at them yet, but the awesome thing is that they're fun to play, *just like the game*.
Take yourself a little less seriously, act a little less self righteous and have some fun with these games. You can do both and be a serious musician, I know I am. :p
As an aside, putting the game into practice mode and playing along with your real instrument is pretty awesome, give it a try some time.
