That was just in reference to your bit about the UK navy slimming down. But subs could definately do some damage, I know ours could! Being the only  nukes we have left

It is slimming down though.  They seem to have been adopting a "Less ships, but better ships" policy.  Which is fine and all, but could prove a problem vs a mass of inferior yet... just large number of ships.

 

Well I only really know a lot about the supercarriers, and we currently have 2 small ones (only 8 Harriers each!) and a spare, and they're being replaced by 2 comparitively large (35 whole planes ) carriers, so in terms of numbers it's basically the same.

However in relation to our navy, this always makes me smile:

Ironically, she could carry more aircraft than our current ones
