Bought World Tour and it hasn't swayed me from preferring Rock Band.
Character editor was a bit more in depth, but still lacks the personality of RB that I enjoyed. I think it's the animations.
The instrument editor has replaced actual licensed guitar models, which I preferred. No more Gibson endorsement? Boo.
Track builder is... tedious. I still haven't tried putting anything together, but it dawned on me that I'd rather be composing and building a track in Garage Band on the Mac instead, rather than a limited sound video game music editor. But, it will still be interesting to see what users come up with.
Didn't like the new guitar at all. It wasn't worth an extra $40, which would have been better spent towards a copy of RB2 since the RB guitar works perfectly with WT. The slide/tap section of the fret board is kind of weak.
If you have the original RB and pay the $5 upload cost, you have access to a much larger library, not even including the free DL tracks. Plus, the current RB tracks available on PSN completely dwarfs what's available for World Tour since GH tracks won't work with it (would require adding drum and vocal tracks).
I'm pretty sure I'd prefer using the WT drum set, but... do I really want TWO sets of toy drums sitting by the TV? Only if I manage to break the RB drum set. (Note to self: must play drums harder)
And the drum practice/tutorial for RB2 is quite excellent, even if it is an understated feature. Wii Music drum tutorial? No thanks. It's more fun using a pair of drum sticks and actually hitting something physical.
