I'd have to give the nudge to Halo for me even with Halo 3s multiplayer being a little less hardcore than Halo 2's However with the forge and theater they really made up for it and it's still one of my favorite online games to date. Gears is just fun, pure awesome fun b/c its not ur standard shooter. After I play Gears 2 I may change my mind but I like both franchises a lot.
