There is something else that Nintendo will have an advantage on. The core game engines (the programing code) was the same from the Gamecube to the Wii (with a few extra bells and whistles) So groups that had programed games for the GC were already a step ahead when it came to programing for the Wii. (at least where the controls weren't conserned) And you can expect them to do the same thing when they go to their next console. They will just ad more bells and whistles and HD support.

MS and Sony would be smart to follow this path also.
