I agree, I don't think I've played a PS3 game yet where the motion controls didn't feel gimmicky and tacked on. Even though they were small the motion parts in Heavenly Sword completely turned me off from the game. I got about halfway through and traded it back in...so annoying. The balancing parts in Mirror's Edge were really annoying with the Sixaxis, I fell a couple times trying to use it to cross just in the tutorial. I'm glad there is an option to disable it I didn't check when I played the demo myself. When I tried the 360 version I had no problems crossing with just the analog stick. |
Well the PC version will have mouse support which is about the best motion control available - till the developers start using the sixaxis motion features or add mouse support to PS3 games. The Wii version will surly have better motion support probably using the light gun and the motion sensing features - it may be the best version to get !.
One good thing about Mirrors edge is there is not so much shooting - which is good because trying to aim with a thumbstick is so slow and awkward compared to the speed and precision of a mouse.
PS3 number 1 fan
