India, despite its linguistic, ethnic, and relgigious diversity, has been a fairly stable democracy. There have been certain periods such as the emergency rule during the mid 70s, but it has been a consistently stable democracy.

 

I don't really know much about India though.  I only saw today on the news that India has a lot of problems aswell between the regions (They talked about it on the news because the Belgian Queen is there at the moment).
