For years, shows that I have really enjoyed (like Firefly and Arrested Development) have been canceled while shows I can't stand see ever growing ratings ... Even shows that I enjoy tend to abandon what I enjoyed after a couple of seasons in order to attract a larger audience. I wouldn't (necessarily) say that this makes other people idiots, but the style of comedy and drama that I enjoy does not have widespread appeal.
