I totally agree with you on Hajime no Ippo and NHK. H n I is ,by a large margin, the best sports/underdog story manga or anime, and NHK is amongst the best the "slice of life" genre has to offer.
OT: Code Geass is pretty good, but seeing its popularity, i would think everyone who could watch it has watched it. I mean, by user rating alone, it has become the number two ranked anime at AnimeNewsNetwork
