Why do people perpetuate this myth that Europe has abandoned the "free market," and that the US is the archetype free-market system? This has stupefied me for years. Both the US and Europe are mixed economies. It depends on which European nation you are comparing to the US, but in some aspects, certain European nations are actually freer than the US.
