How I decide if a console is worth buying
if ((# of games I want that are released or near release) * (average price of games)) >= price of console I get that console.
I don't necessarily have to buy all those games but that way I at least have a selection of games when I buy it so if one turns out bad I still have something to play.
The 360 just squeaked by this rule a year after launch, the Wii hit it easily at launch, and the PS3 still hasn't it but I got it for free anyways.
