That's too bad Haolgamer was banned.. there used to be a lot of conservatives on this site but they seem to mostly have disappeared and we can only count on halogamer to make their arguments. It'll be fun to have him back on election day though. He's going to be very depressed with the Obama landslide.

Eomund got banned for ... well, I'll just say that it's the only time I've ever reported anyone for any reason and he was instantly permabanned.  He got unbanned in the Great Unbanning, but he hasn't returned.

senseinobaka and Andir and freetalklive are all still around.

Sqrl has more than a few views in common with conservatives, and he's hardly unknown around here.

There were a whole bunch of FairTax and Ron Paul supporters back when Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee (who supported the FairTax) looked like realistic potential candidates.

My opinion is that the lack of defenders on the Republican side tells us not that they are gone, but that most of them do not have the stomach to support the way the campaign is being run recently.  Back in the primaries many people (on both sides) were talking about how great McCain was, how respectable he was and that the only big black mark against him was his support of the Iraq war.

stof said at one point, "So far Mcain is proving once again that he his FAR too smart and reasonable to ever lead the Republican party".  Fast-forward to yesterday: although stof still has great respect for his integrity it only seems to prove how far the Republican party has sunk that (in stof's estimation) McCain's integrity actually hurts his capabilities as the Republican candidate.  So this entire election may be nothing more than the final proof that stof is the smartest mod.  Or psychic.

Anyway, when the best thing you can say about a candidate is that he's not good at using his smear tactics, something is seriously wrong.  And THAT's why people like halogamer1989 seem like the only ones still willing to be on the Republican side of the debate in these final days before the election.

In My Opinion.

Yeah, there are conservatives around but like you said alot of them just aren't happy with McCain's campaign. Kasz I still see around and he's both vocal, and intelligent. Haven't seen bigjon in a while, and he's at least vocal, and seems moderate compared to Halogamer. Senseinobaka is a Jehovah's Witness which technically doesn't count as conservative (in theory they have no political affiliation, and they aren't alowed to vote...legally they are, but under their religion's self imposed law they aren't), I don't know Freetalklive. RocketPig has alot of conservative leanings, but he just came out and said he's voting Obama (I was honestly shocked). There are some libertarians like Jackson that know what they're talking about.

It's usually just that the most ignorant are the loudest, and people pay more attention to them because of their ridiculous claims. I wonder if Halogamer will come back if Obama wins tuesday, or if he'll just leave.
