Many people are still puzzled by the Wii's overwhelming success and can't really explain why the little white box is selling so well.

its because its cheap and appeals to a different type of gamer. imo it appeals to the set below, hence easily explains why wii sells so much.

  • party gamer
  • girl gamer
  • child gamer
  • mini-game gamer
  • granny gamer
  • loyal ninty gamer (that waits and waits for nintys core games)

wii will not sell it self on games but instead sell it self upon the ease-appeal to the gamers set upon in my bullet list.

So, that would be every gamer except for the teen and 18-34 manchildren crowd.

I think I can live with that.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
