lol the guy is blowing smoke, what a stupid article.

the install helps load times and helps reduced texture pop etc because before install it had to constant reading from dvd.

to say the textures, grafix are upgraded, because of installing the game is just a joke.

It probably also helps the sluggish menus.

on some games it should increase speed on menues but i dont think that will be noticable. even with all data on hd it will still need to load data, the optional install is a good thing, in a way makes it better than mandotory installs on ps3, the only mandotory installs i agree with r game enhancing ones ike oblivion or mgs4

All of the mandatory installs are game enhancing, that's why they're required.

No,there mandatory because the PS3 blue ray disc drive is so SLOW,thats the main reason why 360 didnt include HD-DVD cause they can have a DVD and no HDD install therefore making there console cheaper....

You think I don't know that? That's what I meant by my post. If none of those games had the mandatory installs, they would be of a much lower quality.

Anyways, that factor probably had very little to do with Microsoft's decision not to include HD-DVD. The main factor behind that is that they want to push their file formats as the way forward with digital distribution, in which they can earn teh $$$s through royalties.

And what's with the ellipses? It makes it look like you were cut short, and you actually had a decent point to make afterwards.
