Seriously, did you play the whole Metal Gear saga? The game has a start (Metal Gear Solid 3), a middle (Metal Gear), and a end (Metal Gear Solid 4). Mechs make total sense, and these mechs are called Metal Gears. They do explain why and how they were created, and like I said, MGS 4 concludes every single plot hole from the previous games (even the old MSX ones). In fact, all the games ALSO have a certain meaning to them, like MGS was about genes, MGS 2 was about what you want the next generations to know, MGS 3 was the back story of The Boss (and Big Boss) and loyalty to your country, MGS 4 explains that the whole saga was a story of friendship and loyalty, etc. Get your facts straight. :/ |
He probably didn't want to have to keep track of all of those plot points. Can't blame him though as you need to remember the plot points in order to completely understand the story. He probably just prefers the stories in stand alone games. MGS's(the series) story was epic in every sense of the word.
