I imagine fewer pop-in issues, which are quite significant with nearly all top 360 games, but why framerate?
I agree with you on drive noise generation, at night when I tried to play Gears the 360 made so much f*cking noise my girlfriend would wake up after putting in the disc...
It will also allow 360 DVD drives to last longer and prevent disc scratching, the 360 DVD drives are cheap models from the PC world where they aren't strained as much (full harddrive install on the PC vs 360 off disc loading).
