yeah, the Palestinians are bullies. sure.

You see my point is US is way too pro-Israel so the Palestinian viewpoint is largely ignored. That can't possible create peace. 'anti-Israeli' was probably a poor choice of a word. We need a president who is not on the APAIC payroll. Unfortunately all polictians have to be annoyingly pro-Israeli because our media has entrenched false truths into our population about the conflict.

One thing you have to consider is that even if you generated a completely independant and free Palestine the middle east would still not be peaceful ... Palestine is just the excuse for mad-men to call for the destuction of Israel and the extermination of the Jewish people who live within Israel; and if Palestine is no longer a viable excuse another issue will pop up immediately.

I could be entirely wrong, but the only thing I can imagine will actually bring long term peace to the middle east would be to make all of the countries capitalist democracies that trade with eachother. I know this goes against the beliefs of many Progressive minded people, but you can never find peace with a country that is ruled by a man who maintains his power by promising to destroy you. Capitalist democracies that trade with eachother do not go to war with eachother because they both have far too much to lose from it.

For Hussein it was, for Bin Laden it probably is, however, for me, Hamas, millions of Palestinian people living around the world it isn't just an excuse to "hate" Israel.

Furthermore, the Arab nations have already put forth a perfectly good plan where Israel would have complete normal relations with all Arab nations.

If Israel would just do what's right and move back to the 1967 borders only the most radical idiots would remain and they are already at odds with them and US so, really no difference there. However, Israel would be recognized the the rest of the world and be able to have a much needed normalization with its own region including the great benefits of trade.

Granted Jerusalem and the area surrounding it is always going to be the point of contention. I would bet that if Israel moved out of the last part of Lebenon (Shabah Farms), Golah Heights of Syria, and all of W. Bank including E. Jerusalem (they could probably keep the two largest military outposts (settlements) North and South of E. Jerusalem, then Palestinians would give up the legitimate 'Right of return' and then all Arab Nations would agree to full peace and relations.

In fact, that is almost exactly what Arabs offered years ago. But, Israel rejected.
