If you don't know what kind of monitor you're getting right now and due to the fact there are often excellent deals on Case/PSU combos I suggest you purcase your HDDs, Optical drives, CPU fan etc this week and at the same time look for the monitor you want to drive. The monitor dictates your GPU requirements which dictates your Case/PSU/CPU requirements.
If you run a larger 1080P LCD TV you won't need as strong GPUs but if you run something like a 30" 2560/1600 resolution monitor you'll see the kind of scaling which justifies buying a high end SLI setup.
