Perhaps a lot of the "bad" games, which happened to contain a small amount of shooting games, diluted the percentage. By the way, 25%+ of sports games just shifted the "too many shooting games" flaw to "too many sports games" flaw. I hate sports games. After a few years, they just clutter all video game stores, and pawn shops, and make finding the "good" games really hard. I would try to confirm if more of the "good" Xbox 360 games contain more shooting games, but I don't know how to filter out those Xbox Live Arcade games. |
That was my thought when I read this actually....
Honestly I think legend11 is correct in saying all consoles do seem to have certain genres thar are a significant portion of the library. In a lot of ways I would hesitate to call this a flaw or error for the console and more of a defining feature. Why shouldn't the 360 have a larger number of shooters if that is what the people who purchase it want? Its not as if it is anywhere near all or even half shooters.
But anyways, I wanted to make a suggestion to one of you out there who is good with the software info. I would love to see a new thread with the breakdown for each console by genre and what % each genres makes up of the library. Then what % of each genre is when only games with above average reviews of 80+ are considered.
