The truth of the situation is games are always getting delayed or canceled this is typically more noticeable on systems with smaller userbases because games do not end up filling the gaps left by delayed or canceled games; with the exception of huge games people rarely noticed delays or canceled games on the PS2 because for every game that was delayed or canceled 5 games were announced to be released at the same time.
