Believe me the difference isn't that big. I have the 360 version and my brother the PC version. We both played the game simultaniously on two big LCD monitors.

 

And of course it does look better than CoD4. (CoD4 graphics aren't that great IMO)

Far Cry 2 is a graphical refinement of COD 4. I have played these shooter games and they do not play much differently from the previous years. Only difference are the graphics have been refined and improved. The gameplay is still the same move from point A to B and kill everything in your path or complete a list of mission objectives.
