I think the development architecture for the 360 bodes well for gaming on the 360 in the future, with regard to the next xbox. The cost of development from last gen to this was substantial, and if a developer can minimize the cost increases from gen to gen...that bodes well. And if a developer can easily port over an effort from the PC to the xbox family, that's a HUGE plus. Using weird and difficult to program architecture is not smart engineering, but hey, whatever works for some...or not.
